Final Project – The Civil Rights Movement

In our lesson, Ally and I created a teaching tool using a book, timeline, and photo journal. We will in begin with reading the book, The Bus Ride That Changed History written by Pamela Duncan. Hello welcome back to our third blog post! Ideally, this lesson will be aimed for 8 and 9 year olds who would be in third or fourth grade. Hi welcome back to my third blog post. Our lesson mostly aims toward 3rdand 4thgraders. The main focus of our lesson is on the Civil Rights movement, highlighting Rosa Parks and her impact during that time. We are planning to use the book, The Bus Ride That Changed History. After conducting my research and looking over my last blog post, the text I will continue to focus on is The Bus Ride That Changed History. This text was written by Pamela Duncan and she focuses on Rosa Parks’ story. From this text I am aiming to focus my lesson around 3rd and 4th graders. Personally, I have not read this book yet; however, through research it is stated that each page builds off the other which will leave young leaders interested.
