This experience has definitely helped me with skills that will help me as a future educator. Creating these blogs has helped me organize everything throughout the process. Some successes I discovered has been the use of a variety of databases to get multiple sources. The databases such as Jstor and Eric made it super easy to find credible sources. For my final project, my partner and I have chosen to use the book, The Dot by Peter H. Reynolds. This book is about a young girl, Vashti, who is discouraged in her art class because she thinks that she cannot draw as well as everyone else in her class. With the help from her teacher who helps her grow her confidence, she is able to create something truly exciting for Vashti. For my final project I’ve decided to research and focus on the naturalist period. This period started in 1870 and lasted until 1910. Naturalism is a literary genre that started as a movement in the late nineteenth century in literature, film, theater, and art. It is a type of extreme realism. This movement suggested the roles of family, social conditions, and environment in shaping human character.
