Dr. Seuss Mini Unit

Alana and I decided to create a Mini Unit on word families to go along with the book “Cat in the Hat” by Dr. Seuss. We have created this Mini Unit for Kindergarten aged students who are beginning to grasp a firm understanding of words and how to spell them. We have included two worksheets to go along with our Mini Unit. These worksheets were created to go along with Gardners Multiple Intelligences, Spatial, Interpersonal and Verbal. Our goal for creating this Mini Unit was to give other teachers a fun way to teach their class about word families while including a well known author, Dr. Seuss! His stories are something Alana and I both remember reading as children and we thought what better than to include in our project. We hope other teachers use this Mini Unit and we both look forward to using it in our own classrooms in the future!
